PDP Governors' Forum inducts Pastor Umo Eno as Member

...As the Forum Sends Forth Past Chairmen

The Governor-elect of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey, has been formally admitted into PDP Governors’ Forum.

This happened at the Reception Ceremony of the PDP Governors-elect and Send Forth of Past PDP Governors’ Forum Chairmen held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

The event which had Nigeria’s former Vice President and PDP 2023 Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as a special guest of honour, also had in attendance the National Acting Chairman of the party, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, the Board of Trustees Chairman, His Excellency, Senator Adolphus Wabara and former Senate President, His Excellency, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Pastor Umo Eno who was represented by his able and capable lieutenant and Deputy Governor-elect, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, PhD was formally received into the forum alongside six other newly elected governors under the platform of PDP.

Admitting Pastor Umo Eno into the forum, the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum presented a souvenir award plaque to the Governor-elect as a symbol of his formal induction into the forum.

In is goodwill message, Pastor Umo Eno speaking through Senator Akon Eyakenyi, PhD, lauded the contributions of the outgoing members of the forum and thanked the party for providing the platform for governors-elect and their deputies, as well as national and state legislators to be elected.

She commended the Keynote Speaker at the event, Dr. Muda Yusuf for his beautiful presentation on ‘Good Governance at the Sub-National Level: Issues, Perspectives, Expectations and Outcomes.’ She said governors must do all within their powers to perform and reach out to their people.

Senator Eyakenyi who described governors as the party’s image makers, stressed the need for succeeding administrations to complete projects initiated by preceding administrations while calling for more women to be accommodated in politics and governance.

Governor Udom Emmanuel who was represented at the event by his deputy, His Excellency, Mr. Moses Ekpo attended the event with other PDP governors.

Outgoing members of the forum, Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State (Chairman); Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State (Vice Chairman); Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State; Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State; Nyesom Wike of Rivers State; and Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State, were honoured during the ceremony for their services to the Forum.
