As the campaign train of PDP/Pastor Umo Eno and Akon Eyakenyi continues its tour, Paramount Ruler of Udung Uko Local Government Area, HRM Odidem Rt. Hon. Bassey Etim Edet, has assured the governorship candidate of the party, Pastor Umo Eno that God will grant him victory at the polls in March 2023.
The monarch who showered his royal blessings on the PDP guber candidate at his palace during a visit on him before the campaign rally in the area, said he was at the unveiling of Pastor Eno as the most prepared and preferred successor for Governor Emmanuel assured the candidate that he will continue to be with him to the end.
Odidem Bassey Etim Edet who is the Eti Oyo Okpo II, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for fulfilling his promise to Udung Uko, especially on the Udung Uko - Ekim Road project and described the governor glowingly as a promise keeper.
The royal father noted that Udung Uko has always supported the government in power adding that the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration has given the area even more reasons to stand by the ruling party in the coming election cycle.
He however requested for more developement projects in the area when elected into office.
In his remarks, Pastor Umo Eno noted that the visit was to pay respect to the traditional institution before proceeding for the campaign rally.
He assured that if elected into office, his administration would work with the traditional institution and other stakeholders to meet the needs of the people.
Accompanied by his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Patience and the deputy governorship candidate, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, Pastor Eno who is a seasoned entrepreneur noted that roads deserving of attention in the area would be constructed with specific mention of the road leading to the beach which he described as economic and business road, as well as the beach market.
While assuring that he would run an inclusive government, he maintained that his administration would further on the trajectory of peace in the area including the creeks, stressing that within his first year in office, every local government area would experience the fulfilment of the ARISE Agenda.
