PRESS RELEASE: PASTOR UMO ENO HAS NO TAG TEAM

The attention of the PDP/Umo Eno Campaign Council has been drawn to a trending post in which it is insinuated that the PDP Gubernatorial Candidate, Pastor Umo Eno, has a tag team to attack his opponents.

Ordinarily, we would not have bothered to react to the post which is clearly a fabrication from the pit of hell. But in the interest of the unsuspecting public, we have to set the records straight.

We are stating emphatically that Pastor Umo Eno has no tag team to attack anybody. He has never done so, is not doing so and will never do so.

Of course, he has no reason to do so when all the indicators show that he enjoys the overwhelming support of Akwa Ibom people and is coasting home to a landslide victory in the forthcoming election.

As a man of God, he has always preached against violence and calumny, emphasing, at every opportunity, the need for an issue-based campaign in this election. And he has practised what he has preached since the start of campaigns.

Rather, it is his opponents that have resorted to inciting violence and hate everywhere they go on campaigns. This is hardly surprising, knowing their violent antecedents.

We are aware that they are planning more desperate acts, including wilder fabrications, as the election nears. But, for this blackmail, experts have been engaged to trace its source.

We, therefore, urge Akwa Ibom people to discountenance such acts which are crass desperation and the last kicks of a dying horse.

Akwa Ibom cannot afford to return to the dark days of violence which this desperate opposition represents. Governor Udom Emmanuel has restored peace to the state and Pastor Umo Eno has made it clear time and again that he intends to sustain the peace.

Let us continue to reject the men of violence and hate.

Akwa Ibom, Arise and Shine!

Prince Chris Abasieyo, MNIPR
Spokesperson, PDP/Umo Eno Campaign Council
