2023: PASTOR UMO ENO SPEAKS TO THE AKWA IBOM DIASPORA

...Promises to involve the diaspora in the new Akwa Ibom State project

On Sunday, December 4, 2022, Pastor Umo Eno met with his Diaspora supporters under the aegis of "Team Umo Eno Diaspora (TUED)" via a Zoom meeting. TUED is an umbrella organization designed to focus all global efforts towards the election in 2023 of Pastor Eno and his running mate, Dr. Akon Eyakenyi. Up to 85 attendees dialed into the 2-hr meeting from the United States, Nigeria, Canada, Ireland, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Saudi Arabia.

Pastor Umo Eno presented his vision for the state to those in attendance, under his ARISE agenda, with the aim of growing the Akwa Ibom State economy and developing Akwa Ibomites. He promised to build on the foundation laid by previous administrations, especially in the areas of industrialization and job creation. He also promised to connect with the great infrastructure that is on ground currently and to bring the dividends of democracy to Akwa Ibom State and her indigenes.

At the meeting, Pastor Umo Eno informed everyone that he had carried out a needs assessment in all 31 LGAs of Akwa Ibom State. Many of his projects would be implemented within the first 100 days of assuming office. In particular, he said he wants the Diaspora to be a part of the new Akwa Ibom State project. Consequently, he wants as many Diasporans as possible to come home and not only campaign for him but to eventually invest in, and relocate to, Akwa Ibom State.  Diasporans, "You are influencers, and you can use our position to encourage everyone to vote for the party."

According to the Pastor, Akwa Ibom State needs a servant leader, and he has put himself forward in this regard - a humble, all-inclusive listener, who can work with constructive criticism and who can create jobs for the youth.

On the call, he also answered a wide range of questions bordering on issues affecting Akwa Ibomites, both at home and abroad - among others, the invasion of herdsmen in our state, the recent controversy surrounding the 13% derivation refund to Akwa Ibom State, Ibom Seaport, cost of governance, Diaspora involvement and support, power generation as well as developing our agricultural and tourism sectors.  He promised to make time to address Akwa Ibomites in the Diaspora on a regular basis.

Ms. Linda Akon Umoh, the TUED Global Coordinator, appreciated everyone for attending, spoke on future projects then announced a meeting in the nearest future where the structure for TUED and other matters would be properly addressed.
