As Umo Eno Hits The Road Again

Today, Thursday, January 5, 2023, Pastor Umo Eno, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State will be joined by the leader of the party in the state, Governor Udom Emmanuel, Chairman of the PDP/Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Council and state chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Anikan Akpan, Director of campaigns, Ambassador Assam Assam, SAN, secretary of campaigns, Prince Enobong Uwah, to Ikot Abasi local government area for the resumption of campaign rallies after a short break occasioned by the Christmas and new year festivities.

Though the resumption had long been planned for in the campaign calendar, it is a new beginning- a new begining because it is a new year; a new beginning because the rallies will dovetail into the elections; a new beginning because the campaigns and the elections were dedicated to God at the state solemn assembly held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

For Pastor Umo Eno who really had no break as he used the yuletide season to reach out to communities, groups and individuals, the resumption of campaign rallies will serve as an outlet for him to, with renewed vigour, sell his intents, again, to the people of the state.

As he has always done at other rallies before now, he will tell Ikot Abasi people and other local government areas after today, of his ARISE Agenda; aimed at connecting the silver past to the golden future he envisages for the state.

The ARISE Agenda, though it captures almost all indices in the sustainable development mandate, is an acronym for Agricultural Revolution, Rural Development, Infrastructural Maintenance/Advancement and Educational Advantage. In those broad areas are little dots like health, security, environmental management, food production, power, entrepreneurship and business development, tourism, water and sanitation.

This new phase of the rallies will be one where the people will also make demands as usual, on Pastor Umo Eno. Luckily, Pastor Eno will not be taken aback at any of the demands as he, through the NEEDS assessment study he commissioned for every local government area, already knows the peculiarity of issues, challenges and developments in each area.

He will address the areas from the hindsight of knowledge of their challenges.

From Ikot Abasi, the train will hit Udung Uko tomorrow, January 7, Ika on January 8, Eastern Obolo on January 9, Etinan on January 10, Mbo on January 11, Ibiono Ibom on January 13, Essien Udim on January 18, Nsit Ubium on January 20, Uruan on January 27, Ikot Ekpene on January 28 and Obot Akara on January 31.
