"By His Grace, We Won't Let A'Ibom Down" - Umo Eno Assures

... Appreciates Members of Campaign Council For Victory

Governor - Elect of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has appreciated members of the Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi campaign Council for their commitment and sacrifice that led to a succeesful outcome at the polls.

Speaking during at a Thank You dinner held at the campaign ground, Uyo, he recalled with gratitude the roles played by members of the different campaign committees during the campaigns as well as mobilizing voters whom according to him, made the victory possible.

He maintained that the meeting was convened basically to appreciate them and Akwa Ibom people in general for their massive support and votes; and assured everyone that by the grace of God, he will not let down the state.

According to him, "We are here to thank you for all your support, sacrifices and contributions. This is a night for us to toast to victory, and to thank God for making this day a reality. I like to thank you for believing in us."

He appreciated the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and wife, Dr. (Mrs) Martha, whom he described as his campaigner-in-Chief, for their unwavering commitment and prayed that God will continue to guard, guide and bless them.

The governor in- waiting also appreciated his family stating, "I like to thank members of my family. My family gave me a whole lot of support. I thank my dear wife, children and grandchildren whom I was away from for sometimes two weeks or more on a stretch. Those kids meant a lot to me, and actually, it is for those kids that I felt we need to put in everything we have on this project. So we want to thank you, and I promise before God that by His Grace, I will not let you down."

Pastor Eno who was visibly emotional while expressing his gratitude to all, and especially to God, reiterated his commitment to an all-inclusive government devoid of ethnic, religious or party baises.

He noted with dismay the polarity of the state, stressing that there was a need to press the reset button and bring everyone on board the administration for the good of the state.

"I believe we need to press a reset button. We need to bring ourselves back to the table. We will reconcile as much as we can, because the Bible says as much as it lies within you. Let's try to bring back our people together so that we can have a happy state where we can have collective growth and prosperity. That's my appeal tonight. I say this very passionately, let's calm frayed nerves, even people that did not vote for us. Please let's not make it a winner takes all affair," he said.

At the event which had over four thousand people in attendance, were the Director- General of Campaign, Deputy, and Secretary, Ambassador Assam Assam SAN, Prince Godwin Ntukeudeh, and Prince Enobong Uwah respectively, among others.
