NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM SENATOR AKON EYAKENYI
Dearest Constituents, I share with you, the joy of the New Year in absolute gratefulness to the Almighty God, who by His endless mercies has preserved us notwithstanding the calamitous situation we have been plunged into by the central government since its inception in 2015. We owe Him everything. To Him alone be all our praise - Amen!
I am thankful and indebted to all of our Constituents, who defied intimidations, threats and vile blackmails and stood firm to cast their votes for me and the PDP in 2019. Thank you so much for your love, support and prayers these three and a half years and counting. Your unwavering support, love and prayers have remained my source of strength and inspiration.
Within the period under reference, I have devotedly and tirelessly worked to justify the confidence reposed in me by the overwhelming majority of our people thereby giving us a face and a voice at the Senate. I have equally consistently reported progress through Constituency Projects, Empowerment Programmes and sundry benefits to our people.
To date, we have recorded at least forty (40) projects through our interventions in the education sector, several achievements have equally been recorded under empowerment programmes, social/community development, power supply, skills acquisition trainings, employment of our constituents, road construction among others while many are ongoing and in the pipeline.
My social contract with our people was anchored on offering our people a Better Deal. To God’s glory, I have done all within my reach to ensure I leave the bar of legislative representation in our district raised beyond the usual. I am committed to continue serving our people up until the last second of my tenure.
I am profoundly grateful to our Leader, the Father of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for his unflinching support. Our Mother, Her Excellency has remained unshaken in her support all through. May God bless and reward them accordingly.
Our Party, the PDP deserves mention for its support. I thank our stakeholders/leaders, youth, women and students who have remained excellent examples of dependable allies in our modest efforts at contributing to the development of our district. Thank you very specially for your support.
As we begin the journey in 2023, it is my humble and passionate appeal that we continue to stick together. Let’s continue to go with the PDP because it has remained consistent in its efforts at pushing the frontiers of Akwa Ibom’s development. Let’s continue to stand by our Brother and Leader, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel by supporting his Completion/Succession Agenda for the sustenance of peace, development and progress in our dear state.
Going into the next elections with our head as against our hearts will help us make the right decisions devoid of emotion. Violence is an ill-wind that blows no one any good. Election is not war, therefore, we must avoid every temptation to be enticed into any act of violence. Where there is any provocation, let’s show love, tolerance and maturity, because, Akwa Ibom is the only state we can call our own.
Again, I wish our people a rewarding and productive 2023 with loads of God’s blessings.
