Nsit Ubium Holds Grand Reception for Umo Eno

It was indeed a wondrous home-coming and beautiful sight to behold as the people of Nsit Ubium, the homestead of Akwa Ibom Governor- elect, Pastor Umo Eno, rolled out the drums to celebrate their own shortly after he was issued with a Certificate of Return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The event, which took place at the local government council arena, saw elders, women, youths, and even children in their numbers singing, dancing and cheering excitedly as they swayed to various tunes rendered by entertainers.

In his remarks, the political leader of Nsit Ubium, Senator Effiong Bob thanked God for favouring the people of the area through the successful election of their son, Pastor Umo Eno.

Senator Bob who is also the political leader of Uyo Senatorial District said the people of Nsit Ubium were overjoyed by the development, which, according to him, was historic because he will be the first ever to attain such an enviable position in the area.

According to him "We are very happy as a people that God has given us a governor-elect. We are so grateful that God has done this great thing for Nsit Ubium and Uyo Senatorial District. We are very confident in our Governor-elect, we know that he has the capacity to serve Akwa Ibom with distinction and record many developmental milestones."

Earlier in his remark, the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Captain Iniobong Ekong, noted that the election of Pastor Eno is a just reward for the many years of diligent service to the state by sons and daughters of the area.

While noting that such favour will not be taken for granted, he assured everyone that Nsit Ubium will continue to support their son throughout his administration and even beyond.

Addressing the packed-to-capacity crowd, Pastor Eno who was accompanied by his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Patience Eno and the Deputy Governor -elect, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, expressed delight at such outstanding demonstration of love and solidarity by his people.

He maintained that their expression of solidarity and love certainly defies the submission that a prophet has no honour or is never celebrated among his own people.

The governor-elect said his successfull election and the collection of a Certificate of Return is a clear pointer to the fact that God can bless and elevate anyone He chooses, and urged all to remain focused on God for better days ahead.

He assured all present that the state was in for a golden era, and through the ARISE Agenda, the peace, security and development trajectory in the state will be sustained.

Pastor Eno noted that this kind gesture by his people will not be taken for granted while giving them the assurance that greater days and happy hours await Nsit Ubium people and the state in general.
