Nsit Ubium: Rock solid for Umo Eno
Nsit Ubium turned out differently for the Governorship Campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Pastor Umo Eno. It was a rock solid demonstration that his foundation is upon a rock and not on quicksand.
A question popped up from an onlooker who was obviously submerged by the electrifying reception Pastor Umo Eno elicited as a homeboy in Nsit Ubium.
He asked to know if Pastor Umo Eno is from Nsit Ubium or Eket. Very much like asking if the Pope is a Catholic.
The simple answer is, he is both and citizen of Akwa Ibom State. Oron Local Government in a rare demonstration of goodwill even conferred Honourary citizenship on him. E shock you?
An unprecedented roll of the drum announced the return of Nsit Ubium's emergent, most important son. They brought together various colourful processions, jubilant women, dances, performers, sociocultural groups, students and exhilarating ceremonies of rich traditional heritage, all presented in radiant opulence.
The entire Nsit Ubium universe of the living, dead and unborn coalesced in surrender to herald their Golden son. Taking a census of the unmatched crowd as far as this 2023 campaigns are concerned would prove to be a rolling -the - water uphill task.
Describing the campaigns, Eket was grand, Uyo a fantasy, Oru Anam, glorious, Etinan, classy, Obot Akara a carnival and Oron was an investiture for the Golden Boy. These, to mention but a few.
Nsit Ubium was out of this world and unsurprisingly all-surpassing. The ecstasy, enthusiasm, excitement, effervescence, euphoria and elation was well out of this world. It was a day fo remember forever.
This was an enthronement of the new King. A welcome reserved for a victorious General returning from the battlefield. Governor Udom Emmanuel, who adorned Nsit Ubium with this honour was there to perform the anointment and crowning of Pastor Umo Eno.
Governor Udom Emmanuel was flanked by his amazing wife, Dr Martha, who has been acclaimed as Pastor Umo Eno's Campaigner in Chief, and the political, secular, religious and traditional hierarchies of the State.
Pastor Umo Eno gave a speech of ratification to his people. He put forward a four-word solemn commitment to his kinsmen and bloodline - "I will make you proud" To his Political Father, Leader and Mentor, HE. Governor Udom Emmanuel he thanked him for the courage of standing by his conviction.
* He pledged to rule in righteousness and never to let the standard down
* He promised to complete all ongoing project and match the Infrastructural renaissance put in place by Governor Emmanuel with rural development.
* For Nsit Ubium, all that is necessary would be done for them as charity should begin at home.
Nsit Ubium is famed for her ancient Itiat Ubium. There is no shaking this rock. Pastor Umo Eno stands on solid ground all other pretenders are sinking sand.
