STILL ON UMO ENO'S REMARKABLE AND HISTORIC VICTORY
The 2023 gubernatorial election in Akwa Ibom State has come and gone but its memories are too indelible to forget in a haste. For one, it came with lots of theatrics and intrigues.
However, despite all of these, its significance was the fact that the concept of maintaining peace and development became a determining factor in the electioneering process.
For the first time, Akwa Ibom people unanimously and passionately expressed their desires to opt for the continuity of peace and development by voting for a candidate capable of catalyzing these prerequisites.
They chose peace over war, light over darkness, and wholly embraced security and progress as they couldn't afford to go back to those dark days when fear, terror and kidnapping reigned, the days of vitriolic speeches and the me-first showmanship.
Akwa Ibom people unanimously voted for Pastor Umo Eno who will continue to steer Akwa Ibom away from the snares of criminality, thuggery, kidnappings, over-bearing cultism and every machinations of evil. He will continue in the trajectory of peace and sustainable development in the State.
Above all, his administration will usher in a golden era where the welfare and interest of Akwa Ibomites will be upheld at all times.
In expression of his penchant for engendering peace and development in the State, Pastor Umo Eno while receiving his Certificate of Return called on other candidates to come together and work for the progress of the State.
He said: "I hereby call my brothers who also aspired for the same position that it has pleased God to entrust me with today, to join me in this great journey of deepening the continuous peace and progress in our dear State. We all ran a good race, and in any contest, a winner must emerge, and it has pleased God to make me a winner for today.
"I love to stretch my hands of fellowship to receive everyone, work with everyone, and work with your ideas because I know that each and every one that ran for this office had some ideas to move the State forward.
"Political campaigns are over. It's time to heal to our land and collectively move our State forward with one accord and with an unbroken spirit of brotherhood. That is the spirit I will bring to the administration of this State."
This is coming from a man who understands that no matter the ethnic lines that we've politically drawn against ourselves, no matter where we come from; be it Ibibio, Annang, Oron, that we have one Akwa Ibom which is our home.
Truth is, with Pastor Umo Eno I see an all-inclusive government. I see human capital development. I see infrastructural renaissance, I see rural development, I see agricultural revolution. I see our youths being gainfully employed and becoming self-sufficient. I see an Akwa Ibom where the voices of the people will be heard and their interest prioritized. I see Pastor Umo Eno giving everything to ensure the realization of the yearnings and aspirations of every Akwa Ibomite.
