... Hosts them to Ramadan Iftar

Governor -elect of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has appealed to the Muslim Community in the state to remain law-abiding for continuous harmonious coexistence.

Addressing the community when he hosted them to Iftar, the breaking of fast after sunset during Ramadan, he noted that the state and her people are very hospitable and that for continuous harmony, there must be mutual understanding and respect for the laws of the land.

It is on record that Pastor Umo Eno, in his unbiased manner, has for many years consistently hosted the Muslim Community to Iftar , long before his sojourn into party politics.

The Governor-elect who expressed delight over the support received from the Muslim Community and indeed non- indigenes, noted that the 2023 edition was basically to appreciate them for their support which he noted was overwhelming.

He assured everyone that the incoming administration will continue to support them where necessary for the good of the community and the state in general.

Earlier, the Chief Imam of Eket, Malam Abubakar Sadiq appreciated Pastor Eno for his expression of love towards the Muslim Community and for always creating time to break their fast with them during Ramadan, recalling that he has always supported the community especially during the commissioning of Eket Central Mosque.

He noted that they were usually sceptical about openly supporting political candidates but the case of Pastor Umo Eno was different due to his long-standing relationship with them and thus, there was no hesitation to openly mobilize support for his candidature given his humble, humane and detribalised disposition.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Hassan Sadauki noted that the fast and Iftar of the day was specially dedicated to thank God for the successful election of Pastor Eno, adding that they will continue to pray for him for the grace to deliver on his mandate.

He maintained that voting for him at the polls was just an aspect of the support, adding that all well- meaning people of the state must continue to pray for the state and the Governor-elect for the wisdom to lead the state well.
