I'll be A Governor for A'Ibom not Group, Section - Umo Eno Assures

Governor-elect of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has stated that he will serve all citizens and residents of Akwa Ibom irrespective of section, tribe, group and affiliation.

Pastor Eno stated this at the Oron Civic Centre during an assemblage of Oro people at the instance of Deputy Governor-elect, Senator Akon Eyakenyi to present her Certificate of Return issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), yesterday.

He reiterated that his administration will accommodate every interest group for greater unity and development of the state and explore all talents for the good of the people.

"No matter where you come from, this government will be all-inclusive. It will be a government for all Akwa Ibom people. It will not be a government for Oro, Ibibio or Annang, but a government of Akwa Ibom State.

"Every part of this state will be well represented so that we can develop the state as much as we can. That is the message I have brought to you.

"As we are about to begin, we are open to ideas concerning the Akwa Ibom project regardless of party affiliation. That is why I am very happy today because I am told people from the APC and other political parties are here with us; that is how it should be. To be honest, I am very interested in the minority tribes because we must give them a voice," he said.

The governor-elect said the visit to Oron was in solidarity with his deputy who had yesterday accompanied him to Nsit Ubium for the same purpose and of course, to show his readiness to match words with action by being, in deed and in words, a governor for all.

He commended the Oro nation for celebrating their own, Senator Eyakenyi, disclosing that they have both shared a very good pre - election season bonding, which would only be better and foster a good working relationship.

The governor-elect promised to deliver on his ARISE Agenda and affirmed that Akwa Ibomites should look forward to happy and better days.
